Defending champions Kingfisher East Bengal begins their CFL 2017 with a thumping performance as the Red and Gold brigade destroys NBP Rainbow with a resounding 4-1 victory. The Red & Gold brigade got a new superhero for their new season as VP Suhair becomes the match-winner with a sublime hat-trick.

East Bengal’s star mid-fielder Mahmoud Al Amna gave the visitors an early lead in the 10th minute of the game. However Kervens Belfort made it 1-1 when he scored from the penalty during the 35th minute of the game.

60th minute saw East Bengal going up again, yet eyes were raised due to a suspicious goal. In the 75th minute, Red & Gold Brigade’s star defender Gurwinder Singh was shown the marching orders in the 75th minutes. Though the 10 men East bengal extended their lead thanks to a brilliant goal from Surabuddin Mollick.

Kingfisher East Bengal's newly signed Syrian play-maker Mahmoud Al Amna met the press for the first time since he came to Kolkata to play his first stint at the Mecca of Indian Football. In an interaction with the press, Al Amna said that he is eager to have the battle with Mohun Bagan's ace foreigner Sony Norde if he decides to play again for the Mariners.
