La consejera de Cultura y Patrimonio Histórico, Patricia del Pozo, ha destacado su apuesta para hacer una sede permanente de exposiciones temporales en el Museo de Málaga, ubicado en el Palacio de la Aduana y que abrió sus puertas en diciembre de 2016, y asegura que ya están trabajado en ello. Del Pozo ha subrayado que trabajan a destajo para sacar adelante la sala temporal en el museo, porque es una de las prioridades de Málaga. Cabe recordar que el consejero de Presidencia, Administración Pública e Interior, Elías Bendodo, ya señaló el pasado mayo que el Museo de Málaga debía convertirse en un referente, siendo el primer objetivo cerrar un calendario de exposiciones temporales. El Museo de Málaga cuenta con más de 15.000 piezas arqueológicas y 2.000 referencias de Bellas Artes. El pasado junio, la pinacoteca malagueña fue elegido uno de los mejores centros abiertos en los últimos dos años de Europa, según los Premios al Museo Europeo del Año.
